In a round rail linear guide the outer race is the linear bearing while
the inner race is the shaft. In this training section we will be
focusing on the linear bearing (outer race).
Linear bearings are made in closed and open configurations. The following video explains the differences between closed and open ball bushing bearings and which one to choose.
The advantage of RoundRail is its inherent ability to accommodate torsional misalignment (caused by inaccuracies in
carriage or base machining or by machine deflection) with little
increase in stress to bearing components. This important feature to all
Ball Bushing® Bearing systems reduces installation time and cost, while
maximizing performance.
